President Trump has signed an Executive Order eliminating the de minimis exemption for commercial shipments valued at $800 or less.
Effective August 29, all low-value shipments previously eligible for duty-free entry under de minimis provisions will now require formal entry in ACE by a licensed customs broker or other qualified party. Applicable duties and fees must be paid by the importer.
