On June 3, President Trump issued a proclamation increasing tariffs on certain steel and aluminum imports from 25% to 50% ad valorem. The new rates are scheduled to take effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on Tuesday, June 4, 2025.
In conjunction with the proclamation, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued updated guidance regarding tariff stacking, as directed by Executive Order 14289.
