Routings roundup: Panama, Suez, and…Cape of Good Hope

Concerns around the reliability of the Panama Canal due to low water transit restrictions and security risks in transiting the Red Sea have pushed carriers to start scheduling some vessel routings around the Cape of Good Hope, at the southern tip of Africa, lengthening transit times and providing carriers with a mechanism for “soaking up” excess capacity.
