EU ends Consortia Block Exemption Regulation

The European Commission has decided not to extend the Consortia Block Exemption Regulation (CBER) beyond April 25, 2024 for liner shipping consortia – “agreements between liner shipping companies on joint operation of services”. As a result, ocean carriers and consortia will be subject to standard EU antitrust rules.
