EU’s ETS: Asian carriers hit the hardest

Asian carriers are among the hardest hit by The European Union’s Emissions Trading System (ETS) due to the extensive distances covered in voyages to and from the EU. Carriers such as Cosco, Evergreen, HMM, and Ocean Network Express (ONE) face increasing costs estimated to reach over EUR 1 billion by 2026.
