Israel Supply Chain Update

As the Israel-Hamas war continues, DHL Global Forwarding has initiated a dedicated charter operation between Liege (LGG) and Tel Aviv (TLV) to offset the decline in belly capacity into the region. The ocean ports of Haifa, Ashdod, Hadera and Eilat remain operational with hazardous cargo restrictions in place, while Ashkelon port, the nearest to Gaza, has stopped operations. Israel’s tax authority announced that it would compensate any ships damaged in its economic waters. At the same time, war risk premiums have reportedly increased 10x in some instances. The risk of the conflict escalating regionally raises concern about broader supply chain impacts as well.
