U.S. Signs Trade Agreements with Bangladesh and Taiwan

The U.S. and Bangladesh signed the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade on Feb. 9.
Under the agreement, the United States will maintain a 19% reciprocal tariff on most imports from Bangladesh, while select products listed in Annex III of Executive Order 14346 will receive a 0% tariff.

The U.S. and Taiwan have also signed a new reciprocal trade agreement.
Under the agreement, Taiwan will remove or reduce 99% of tariffs on U.S. goods and provide preferential market access for U.S. industrial exports, including autos, chemicals, seafood, machinery, health products, electrical products, metals, and minerals.
In response, The U.S. will apply the higher of the Most Favored Nation (MFN) tariff rate or a 15% tariff, as defined under Executive Order 14257, as amended. The agreement specifies list of products are exempt from reciprocal tariffs.
