Middle East Conflict Impacts Air Cargo

The first full week of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran significantly affected global air cargo traffic, according to WorldACD.

Airfreight prices increased due to airspace and airport closures in the region, leading to shifts in routing and capacity. The ongoing conflict is expected to drive further price increases, including fuel surcharges and war risk premiums.

Global airfreight traffic dropped 4% week-over-week, with the Middle East and South Asia particularly impacted, experiencing a 36% decline.
