ILA signals potential coastwide strike

The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) labor contract is due to expire in September, with talks mainly deadlocked over wage raises. ILA warns of possible October 2024 coastwide strike, causing concerns among trade associations and analysts over port disruptions during the peak shipping season.
