Freight Rates Retreat to December Levels

Recent data from the Freightos Baltic Index indicates continued softening in transpacific ocean rates. Asia–U.S. West Coast rates declined 21%, returning to early December levels, while Asia–U.S. East Coast rates decreased 10%.

The Port Tracker projection anticipates a slowdown in U.S. import volumes through the first half of 2026, reflecting a more moderate demand environment compared to prior periods.
