FMC publishes report for new Maritime Transportation Data System (MTDS)

The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) published a conclusive report calling for the establishment of a common system and lexicon to improve data management, actual and estimated in-transit visibility, and transparency for maritime cargo. Specific recommendations were issued for: Shippers, Ocean Carriers, MTO’s, Rail Carriers, and Ports.
