AMS Lowers Assigned Value for Imported Cotton

The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is lowering the value assigned to imported cotton as part of its annual updates to the Cotton Board Rules and Regulations. The adjustment ensures that assessments on imported cotton and cotton-containing products remain consistent with those for domestic cotton.

This final rule will take effect on March 1, 2026, unless significant adverse comments are received by January 30, 2026.
