US-UK Trade Deal: CBP Guidance

Effective June 30, special tariff provisions for U.K.-origin automobiles, auto parts, and goods covered under the Civil Aircraft Agreement will go into effect, according to a U.S. Commerce Department notice issued June 27.

  • U.K. auto parts may now be entered at a 10% tariff rate under subheading 9903.94.32.
  • Civil Aircraft Agreement goods from the U.K., as detailed in the notice, will be exempt from reciprocal and Section 232 tariffs under subheading 9903.96.01.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued related entry guidance on June 27 for importers using these subheadings.

In a separate Cargo Systems Message, CBP announced the 2025 quota limit for U.K. automobile imports under this provision: 65,205 units, applicable from June 30 through December 31, based on the U.S.-U.K. Economic Prosperity Agreement.
