President Trump Tariffs on Trucks, Parts, and Buses

President Trump has issued a proclamation imposing Section 232 tariffs on imports of medium- and heavy-duty trucks, truck parts, and buses, effective November 1 at 12:01 a.m. EDT.

The tariffs will be set at 25% for trucks (Classes III through VIII) and parts, and 10% for buses. From November 1, 2025, through October 31, 2030, a 3.75% tariff offset will be available for domestic truck assembly.

These new tariffs will not apply to products already subject to sectoral tariffs on steel, aluminum, copper, automobiles, or lumber, nor will they affect reciprocal tariffs on Canada, Mexico, Brazil, or India.
