FMC Recovers $1.35M in Penalties

The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) recently finalized two compromise agreements following investigations into potential Shipping Act violations, recovering $1,350,000 in civil penalties. One of the settlements, totaling $1.3 million, stemmed from findings that the company provided services that did not align with its published tariffs and, at times, failed to publish required rates—issues that affected numerous shipments over more than a year.
