EU Unveils Countermeasures Against U.S. Goods

The European Union has announced plans to reinstate tariffs on U.S. steel and aluminum, which had been suspended previously, and to implement a new set of countermeasures targeting U.S. exports. The EU’s steel and aluminum duties, originally introduced in response to the U.S. Section 232 tariffs during the first Trump administration, will take effect on April 1. Other countermeasures are expected to be rolled out by mid-April.

In response, former President Donald Trump has threatened to impose tariffs as high as 200% on alcohol products from France and other European nations unless the EU removes its retaliatory measures.
